Birdsville community members came together for creativity, connection and conversation at the August Monthly Gathering, held on 22 August 2026.
Inspired by Daffodil Day, the gathering recognised the important work of Cancer Council while helping raise awareness of cancer in the community.
Seven locals took part in a guided watercolour painting session, creating their own daffodil artworks while enjoying a shared morning tea. Cancer Council information was also available for participants throughout the morning.
The session provided a relaxed and welcoming opportunity for community members to connect, learn new skills and support positive mental health and wellbeing.
The activity was a hit, with several participants enjoying it so much they went on to complete a second flower painting.
The Birdsville Monthly Gatherings continue to provide an important opportunity for locals to come together, build connections and enjoy activities that support community wellbeing.
